Established 1982
The South Carolina Locksmith Association (SCLA) was formed in the spring of 1982 in the Columbia area. A group of locksmiths came together to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and support one another. From the beginning, members gathered every three months to enjoy a meal, tell stories, discuss new products, and build lasting fellowship.
On July 19, 1997, SCLA officially became a non-profit organization recognized by the State of South Carolina. With that step, membership applications and dues were introduced. Today, the Association is over 100 members strong. To ensure trust and professionalism, members are required to complete background checks every three years, as there are currently no state licensing or certification requirements.
Our members are dedicated professionals who uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and pride in their work. We care deeply about serving our customers and supporting one another as a community.
